2:00pm-5:15pm, Trinity United Methodist Church,
404 N. 6th St., Lafayette IN
An
informative and engaging workshop with special guest
Barbara Kavadias from the national RCRC and several
local clergy |

Above,
the Clergy Panel. A Church of the Brethren minister,
a Jewish Rabbi, and a Baptist minister shared
their thoughts. We learned about Jewish teachings
relating to pregnancy. We learned about how the
personal experience of a teenage friend informs
one clergyperson's beliefs. And we learned how
clergy can be most helpful and supportive when
women are faced with a difficult decision.

Presentation
at "Get Out the Vote" Rally on Sunday, Oct.
31, 2004.
Excerpt from speech by IRCRC President Kaye McSpadden:
"Before you cast your vote, consider
the candidates' records and statements on reproductive
rights. Ask the candidates questions such as: will you
support legislation to require all hospitals tomake
emergency contraception available to rape victims? Will
you support funding for comprehensive sex education
programs? And will you support and protect the legal
right of every individual to make their own reproductive
decisions in keeping with THEIR religious beliefs, not
yours? Tell the politicians you are a person of faith
and you care about religious freedom and reproductive
rights and health -- they will listen if you tell them,
and show them, with your vote!"
