Scrapbook: 2007—Faith & Freedom Dinner

The 2007 Faith & Freedom Dinner was a Great Success!

IRCRC President at podiumRegistration and display tableThe 2007 "Faith and Freedom" Dinner was held in Lafayette on Saturday, April 14, 2007. About 120 people gathered to celebrate and affirm our commitment to reproductive rights and religious liberty. It was an energizing, enlightening, encouraging and truly magical evening!

RECEPTION
A fun reception was held before the dinner. People enjoyed socializing, bidding on items in the silent auction, visiting the information table, all to the background of wonderful mellow jazz music by the Danny Weiss Duo (below).

Several clergy participated in the program, leading us in prayer and reflection, as we re-affirmed the faith foundation of our dedication to reproductive choice.

Fun, fellowship, and great conversations were had over dinner. Many friends and members of several local congregations, as well as family groups, reserved whole tables. Congregations that were represented included Trinity United Methodist (Lafayette), Temple Israel (Lafayette), and Unitarian Universalist Church (Lafayette). Organizations that were represented included our wonderful friends at Planned Parenthood of Indiana. Friends and members came from as far away as Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, and Evansville.

Sapphonia singersMUSIC
The beautiful harmonies and rousing rhythms of Sapphonia, ensemble of the Indianapolis Women's Chorus, electrified the crowd. Selections included "One of Us Can Make a Difference," "Psalm 23," and "These Hands." Several members of the audience got up from their seats and joined the singers in clapping and dancing during the rousing finale, "We Got the Power."

Thank you, Sapphonia!
