Scrapbook: 2007 "Sacred Values" worship service & "Prevention Now" Rally at the Statehouse
Sacred
Values Multifaith Celebration |
|
"Sacred
Values: A Multifaith Celebration of Freedom, Health
and Justice" Thursday, Feb. 8.
IRCRC
sponsored its first-ever multifaith worship service
at the Indiana Statehouse on Thursday, Feb. 8. "Sacred
Values: A Multifaith Celebration of Freedom, Health
and Justice" was held in the large north atrium,
among the towering and stately columns of our state's
house of government. Several hundred people joined together
in a service that included prayers, responsive readings,
a dramatic skit, and reflections by several clergy.
Participating clergy were Christian Church (Disciples
of Christ), Jewish, Unitarian Universalist, United Church
of Christ, and United Methodist. Purple ribbons declaring
our "sacred values" were passed out and participants
were invited to tie the ribbons on each other's wrists.
Thanks to everyone who attended and special thanks to
the clergy who helped us share and celebrate our values
at the state legislature.
The
words from this inspiring service are now available!

After the "Sacred Values" service, the rousing
and successful "Prevention Now" Rally
was held. IRCRC was among over a dozen groups which
worked together to sponsor the rally. Read

One
of the speakers in the rally was Rev. Richard Clough.
